Hey, and welcome to this Rentibly how-to: designing the owner statement. Let's build a statement layout your owners can read at a glance — without changing a single number. Here's what we'll cover — the chapter times are right here, and in your player. Let's get started.
Statement Views decide how your owner statements look — the columns, the summary, and the PDF. They're presentation only: the figures, and what the owner is paid, never change. Your default view is used for every owner, unless you give one owner a view of their own. Let's build a new one.
Give it a name, and pick a layout. Simple shows just the totals. Expanded adds a table with one row per booking — grouped by property, if the owner has more than one home.
Then the columns owners see. Rename any heading, and add a short note that shows as a little info icon for the owner. For the money columns, choose the share earned in this period, or the whole booking's value. Drag a column to reorder it, and Add column brings in more — any of your fees on its own, a group total, or the commission breakdown. A composed total adds up whichever columns you pick.
Below the table: the summary — every step from gross to net, or just bookings and expenses, then the net. The expenses section, with its own columns, grouped by property or by category. And what else to show, like how nights are split across months.
And the PDF itself: your logo and where it sits, your company details, what the owner block shows, and a footer — payment terms, contact details, a disclaimer, and page numbers.
As you go, the live preview shows a real statement in this layout. Pick an owner — Sofia Scott — and see exactly what she'd get. Nothing is created; it's only a preview.
When it's right, Save view — and tick Default to make it everyone's. Owners then see the new layout on all their statements, old and new; only the look changes, never the numbers. We're only exploring today, so: Cancel.
Thanks so much for watching! If you're already on Rentibly, open Settings, Statement Views, and preview your default against one of your owners. And if you're not on Rentibly yet, book a demo call, and we'll show you all of this, live.
